Intelligent Tutoring Systems

A seminar by Erica Melis and the ActiveMath group

In this seminar, we will gain insight into the fascinating domain of Intelligent Tutoring Systems, or ITS for short.
Roughly speaking, these are smart systems that help the user in some clever ways to learn the content they provide instead of just presenting the material, as it is the case with many big commercial products like WebCT or Blackboard. ITS have been built for a variety of domains ranging from calculus to reading texts. We will study and discuss several key systems and the various technologies they employ.
